—> my wife is a knitter, so in the moment, in the visceral zeitgeist of cultural outrage, these hats seemed like an irresistible symbol for the pushback; while I’m aware of some of the ways that initial response failed at intersectional awareness, I also think it remains a relevant cultural marker, and there are a lot of people for whom it resonates still.

Certainly, the sentiment behind the piece remains the same, and a polar bear seems like the perfect protester to send a message about the impacts of human behaviour and belief.
